The Onyx Spring 2015 Volume 49

This was a project that was done for Framingham State University's The Onyx. The Onyx is a literary and art magazine that students can submit their work to and have them be judged by their peers. I was responsible for the layout of the magazine as well as the theme and artwork to accompany it. My idea behind this year's magazine was the legend of the Phoenix. The phoenix rises from the ashes of the one that came before it, and it is a completely new being. This is similar to how every issue of The Onyx is new and unique. Finally, the feathers and birds present throughout the book are a collage of all the submitted works, which allows the artists and writers to be a part of the overall design.
